The sewing school is a vocational training initiative serving female orphans and widows who have very few prospects of earning an income.
This program has now been operating for several years with great success. However limited funds for the purchase of treadle sewing machines are preventing graduates from finding work.
Program running costs for an individual and the purchase of a sewing maching for use upon graduation are $140.00 per/person (includes machine).
Participants are required to repay a percentage of the purchase price of their machine once they start work. These funds are then used to cover operational costs.
PROJECT STATUS - ACTIVE
This is an ongoing project, donations and regular contributions are required.
One participant can be put through the 12 month course and provided with a sewing machine for AUD$140.00.
This project is an initiative developed by members of the same African community it seeks to serve, and highlights Day 4's commitment to our mission and vision.
